Experience Iconic Newport, RI
TOUR THE NEWPORT MANSIONS
With over 800,000 visitors a year, the legendary Newport mansions are one of Rhode Island's top attractions. The Preservation Society of Newport County operates several different homes. Of these, the most popular mansions are The Breakers, Marble House, The Elms, and Rosecliff. Ryan’s favorite is the Rosecliff, the Sloanies will know why!

STROLL ALONG THE CLIFF WALK
If you want to see the mansions but don’t want to give up the water views, take an enchanting walk along the 3.5 mile ocean-lined Cliff Walk to scope out panoramic ocean views on one side and century-old Gilded Age mansions on the other. Check out cliffwalk.com for more info - the website looks like it hasn’t been updated since the 80’s. That’s how you know it’s legit.
DIVE RIGHT IN
Newport offers a variety of other nearby beaches worth exploring. From Easton's Beach along the famed Cliff Walk to relaxing Gooseberry, there is something for everyone, whether you have your heart set on sunbathing or having a swim. If you're looking for a scene, you'll find it on Ballard's Beach, just a few steps from the ferry docks. You can rent chairs and umbrellas at Ballard's Inn, order tropical drinks from the tiki bars set up on the sand, lunch on lobster rolls in the inn's casual cafe.
A ROUND, OR TWO, OF GOLF
Take in the scenery from golf courses with water views offering world-class vistas and athletic challenges. While the Jamestown Golf Course doesn’t have a driving range, the course has sweeping views of the Newport bridge and water.
TASTE LOCAL WINE
Consider exploring one of the wine world’s best-kept secrets: Aquidneck Island, one of the nation’s most desirable areas for vineyard production. Ample farmland and a moderate micro-climate allow for a long growing season that produces complex flavors in our wines. There’s also Newport Vineyards and Sakonnet Vineyards.
